設計溫度,系指容器在正常操作情況下,在相應設計壓力下,殼壁或元件金屬可能達到的最高或最低溫度。當殼壁或元件金屬的溫度低于—20℃,按最低溫度確定設計溫度;除此之外,設計溫度一律按最高溫度選取。設計溫度值不得低于元件金屬可能達到的最高金屬溫度;對于0℃以下的金屬溫度,則設計溫度不得高于元件金屬可能達到的最低金屬溫度。
